Humans see color differently; purple to one person may be red, red to one person may be purple. In the world of printing, it gets even more challenging. Every monitor displays color differently and every printer prints color using its own recipe. When you view a proof on a monitor and then print it out, there is a good possibility the colors you see are not what you are going to get. If you are ordering a new item, you may want to ask for a hard proof and/or reference a specific PMS ink number. PMS (Pantone Matching System) is universal. Do not rely on a verbal confirmation of "Carolina Blue", "Coca Cola Red", "UPS Brown", or "Jesus Purple". And yes, I have someone ask me to make sure it is a "Jesus Purple" when it comes off the press.
